We had the chance to ask them a few questions about their sport:
How did you get started in curling?
Katie: The Lindgren family got me started. Our families have known each other for years.
Abi: My dad introduced me to it in the 5th grade.
Emily: My dad
John: My family has always been into it.
Jacob: Going down to the club to throw rocks with my Dad when I was little.
What do you like most about competing in Juniors?
Katie: There are so many great opportunities. There is a lot of great competition out there. I've made great friends and travelled across the country.
Abi: It's challenging, I get to spend time with my friends and family in a competitive environment.
Emily: The people you meet and the great competition.
John: The chance to meet new people I would never have met otherwise.
Jacob: Achieving our team's goal of making it to Nationals.
What do you find most challenging about competitive curling?
Katie: It can be frustrating if things don't go your way, but as a team you have to get past that and move forward.
Abi: There is always great competition, which makes it both fun and challenging. Also, balancing curling and school can be a challenge sometimes.
Emily: Fitting practices, bonspiels (almost every weekend), and school work all into my schedule.
John: Not playing well and having bad games.
Jacob: Not put too much focus on the score and instead focus on one end at a time.
What is the best way for someone to follow your progress through the tournament?
Katie: the Junior Nationals website
Abi: follow us on our Facebook page or the Junior Nationals website
Emily: Like Team Lindgren on Facebook or find the online scoring!
John: There is a website related to the event that posts the scores of our games.
Jacob: Junior Nationals website
